About This Job
The incumbent will gain experience in the fields of International Student & Scholar Services and International Education.
This student position will provide useful administrative support to the International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) unit. This position will create E-forms in Sunapsis for J-1 scholars and help launch the use of e-forms to scholars and HR business partners. May include work with the University Information Systems staff and observing system-wide Sunapsis meetings.
Supervisor
This position reports to the Assistant Director ISSS and is expected to work collaboratively with all ISSS staff members.

- Initial intake
- Amendments and extensions
- New scholar check in
- Address and insurance updates
- Departure
- Create process and instructions for new and current scholars to access Sunapsis
- Create process and instructions/training for university employers to access Sunapsis
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The Administrative Student Assistant commits to showing up for work diligently and punctually, honesty, performing assigned tasks, following directions, taking initiative, reliability, confidentiality, checking work for thoroughness and accuracy with attention to detail, and interest in learning new skills, especially mandatory computer skills.
The successful candidate should possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Experience with databases
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and Adobe
- Strong organization and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and with extreme attention to detail
- Should also be able work effectively, and at times with minimal supervision, in a busy office environment
- Cross-cultural sensitivity and the demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service to a diverse group of customers
- Interest in internationalization and cross-cultural communication
Minimum Requirements
- Enrollment in a higher education institution or on an official break
- Information technology experience or coursework
Pay Range or Starting Wage
$18.81/hour
Work Schedule and Commitment / Length of Employment
The Administrative Student Assistant will determine a hybrid work schedule with the supervisor for between 130-160 hours and ending by 06/30/2025.

International Student and Scholar Services is comprised of knowledgeable and dedicated professionals who work as a team to provide expert immigration advice and support to international students, scholars, hiring units, and the faculty and staff who educate and support them. ISSS is responsible for ensuring compliance with complex immigration rules and regulations when foreign nationals come to the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus to study, teach, conduct research, or engage in other academic pursuits. Our work requires expertise in nonimmigrant visa categories including B-1/ B-2, F-1, F-2, H1B, J-1, J-2, O-1, TN, as well as various employment-based permanent residency categories and highly specialized visa options for physicians.
