Accountant II

Summary of Job Duties:
The Accountant II will be part of the Treasurer's Office Accounting and Refunding team, which will focus on reviewing, auditing, reporting, and backing up the customer invoice payment and refunding process. The Accountant II will also assist in the processing of internal and external scholarships and be a backup to the student refunding and waiver areas.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job function of this job, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in general business, business administration, finance, accounting, or related field
Applicable equivalencies may be considered on the above qualifications.
Two years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related area
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Higher Education
Experience with Student Information Systems, especially Workday and PeopleSoft
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of accounting principles
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and human resources
Experience with Microsoft Office products, especially Microsoft Excel.
Experience with financial software applications
Ability to review and analyze financial information
Ability to interpret and apply provisions of applicable laws, rules, regulations, and agency/institution policies
Ability to conduct research, perform quantitative quality assurance reviews, resolve operational problems, and prepare required reports
Ability to communicate clearly through various methods including, but are not limited to, face-to-face, telephone, e-mail, or other written correspondence

Salary Information:
$51,021 per year
