The Role

We’re hiring a Zapier Developer to help us deliver faster, smarter, and better — by building automations and lightweight AI agents that streamline our internal systems and enhance client delivery.

This is a part-time, independent contractor role (approx. 20 hours/week). Work is flexible and remote, but we expect consistent weekly availability and reliable delivery.
 

You’ll work directly with our leadership team to:

• Build and maintain automations using Zapier, webhooks, and REST APIs
• Connect tools like Google Workspace Apps, Airtable, GitHub, Trello, Slack, and AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google AI, Perplexity)
• Write Python scripts to extend functionality when out-of-the-box tools hit their limit
• Troubleshoot issues, test reliability, and document clearly
• Identify high-impact automation opportunities — not just execute assigned tasks

You’ll also collaborate closely with members of our development team, so being a thoughtful teammate and clear communicator matters just as much as technical skill.

What Success Looks Like

You consistently deliver reliable, working automations that improve how we operate and serve clients. You build with quality, solve problems independently, and take ownership of getting workflows across the finish line — tested, documented, and in use.

Important

This isn’t a learn-on-the-job or training role. We’re a small, fast-moving team with immediate priorities, and we need someone who can contribute from day one.
 

If you’ve shipped working automations, solved problems without hand-holding, and made smart decisions when requirements were vague — we want to talk. If you’re still ramping up on Zapier, APIs, or Python, this role probably isn’t the right fit yet.
 

We’re only reviewing candidates who meet the core requirements and can be productive immediately.

Required Skills

• Proficient using Zapier to create and manage multi-step automations
• Have integrated and leveraged AI tools and models via API
• Comfortable writing and editing Python scripts (advanced beginner or above)
• Solid understanding of REST APIs — including authorization, sending requests (GET, POST, PUT), and handling responses
• Able to create, parse, and troubleshoot JSON and XML
• Experience with GitHub and version control workflows
• Effective communicator — especially in writing and async collaboration

Nice to Have

• Experience using Postman to develop and test APIs
• Interest in building AI agents using real-world tools (not just experiments)
