About the role

We are searching for a talented Software Engineer (Full-Stack) to join our dedicated team. This role is designed for candidates with a solid background in both front-end and back-end development, encompassing both iOS and Android platforms. We value candidates who possess the capability to translate research ideas into efficient applications, work efficiently under tight deadlines, and have experience with continuously collecting smartphone sensor and metadata in the background.

As an early-stage startup, our close-knit team thrives on robust communication and collaboration across different disciplines. Joining us means being a part of an adept group of ML researchers and engineers, where you’ll work closely with our Chief Scientist and regularly liaise with the broader team. As a team, our central goal is consistent alignment to our mission — delivering continuous supportive care to patients.

What you’ll do

Help build and maintain a platform for continuous patient engagement. Specifically, you will

• Design, develop, and maintain mobile applications on both iOS and Android platforms.
• Implement responsive frontend designs and integrate with backend services.
• Ensure optimal performance of applications on all device types.
• Collaborate closely with the ML team to integrate AI-driven features.
• Maintain application health, handle bugs, and improve user experience.
• Adopt best practices for secure and efficient data handling and storage.
• Report and present developments directly to Leadership and other team members.
• Engage in collaborations among team members to readily meet on-going goals.

Stay updated on the latest in full-stack and mobile development trends

• Attend the team’s favorite machine learning and clinical conferences.
• Participate in tech talks or workshops relevant to the current technology stack.
• Explore new frameworks and tools that can optimize our development process.

What we’re looking for

You are a solution-driven and compassionate engineer eager to make a substantial impact in healthcare. Specifically, you have

• Pursing a bachelor’s, master’s or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field from an accredited academic institution.
• Proficiency in mobile app development for both iOS and Android platforms.
• Familiarity with frameworks such as React, Node.js, and MongoDB.
• Experience with mobile app development tools like Swift, Kotlin, and Flutter.
• Knowledge in frontend design principles and best practices.
• Strong expertise in continuously collecting smartphone sensor and metadata.
• A deep interest in building safe and reliable AI tools for real-world applications.

• Experience in collaborating and working with researchers in an interdisciplinary setting.
• Previously worked in a healthcare setting or at an early-stage startup.
• Familiarity with deploying applications that handle sensitive health-related data.
