Location: Rensa Filtration, Aurora, IL & Woodridge, IL 

Reports to: Sean Moore, Special Projects

Intern, Operations & Engineering

The goal of this internship is to gain hands-on experience with operations and engineering in a manufacturing environment.

Essential Position Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Project planning assistance with planned relocation and consolidation of facilities 
    1. Plant Layout
    2. Coordination/Scheduling of riggers, electrical, air installations
    3. Coordination with sequence and step planning
  2. Time Studies
    1. Learn and apply LEAN techniques to generate non-value-added activity reduction within Helios and SF lines (FTS Pleater – changeovers and material flow optimizations)
  3. JSA Documentation for all Areas.  Have all jobs documented and completion of forms for each function – Material Handlers to Assemblers
  4. Engineering Documentation Update
    1. Finished goods, raw materials, and submittal drawings

Education and Experience:

Pursuing an education in manufacturing/operations/engineering. 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to access and navigate the production facility.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.
