Lead Pastry Cook

POSITION SUMMARY

Come join one of the most fun, amazing, and fast-growing brands on Cape Cod! The role of the Lead

Pastry Cook is a full-time, year-round culinary position that is critical to the success Buffy’s Ice Cream,

Home of Chatham Ice Cream Bars.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in a professional bakery/kitchen, be highly detail-

oriented, and have outstanding communication skills with a sincere commitment to being a great teammate

and providing our customers with excellent products and services.

In this role, you will design and produce bakery items for Buffy’s Ice Cream, home of Chatham Ice Cream

Bars in beautiful and historic downtown Chatham. You'll also play a lead role in helping us design new

products to add to our menu and be a part of an expanding business, with the opportunity to take on

additional responsibilities over time. There is great growth potential and the ability to help shape the

direction of a brand that is an iconic part of downtown Chatham and Cape Cod!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Key Responsibilities:

• Bake high-quality cookie and brownie sheets with consistent flavor, texture, and appearance.

• Assemble and finish baked products with attention to detail, ensuring visual and taste excellence.

• Portion and cut finished products into precise, uniform sizes for packaging and distribution.

• Assist Pastry Chef in creating and maintaining production plans and schedules.

• Support the Pastry Chef in developing and refining efficient production workflows.

• Order raw food materials and maintain proper inventory levels.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment.

• Assist in training team members on standard recipes and preparation procedures.

• Uphold quality standards and consistently produce high-quality products.

• Enthusiasm to learn new skills and grow with the business.

• Contribute your positive energy, collaborative spirit, and curiosity for thinking outside the box to a

great team!

• Other related duties and assignments as necessaryQualifications:

• 2+ years of professional baking or pastry experience

• Very detail oriented with strong problem-solving skills

• Self-motivated and comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.

• Dedication to the foodservice/hospitality industry and a commitment to quality.

• Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment and meet production targets.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and be on your feet for extended periods.

• A great attitude and enthusiasm for being an important part of an amazing team!!
