Athletics & Wellness Center Desk Attendant - 0696 Spring 2026
Position Purpose/Overview
The Athletics and Wellness Center Facility attendant is a student position designed to represent the Wellness Programs department during hours of operations. The position will mainly focus on providing excellent customer service and
extraordinary guest experiences. The position will work in the areas of the Welcome Desk, or Energy Center.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Handle all point-of-sale transactions including memberships, locker and equipment rentals, day pass sales, and all other retail transactions.
- Understand and politely enforce Wellness Center policies and all other area-specific policies.
- Understand all Wellness software programs including Moodle LMS, Slack, SubItUp, Cbord, & The Heart.
- Promptly respond to emergency situations and assist the Facility Manager in administering appropriate care and/or calling Emergency Medical Services if needed.
- Greet patrons as they enter and exit the Energy Center.
- Be approachable to patrons and answer general questions about various pieces of fitness equipment.
- Be knowledgeable about the Wellness Programs department as a whole and be able to direct patrons to other program areas to ensure proper information is shared.
- Enforce policies and procedures set forth by Wellness Programs to maintain a friendly and safe environment.
- Pick up and organize weight equipment to ensure a safe and clean workout area.
- Clean and sanitize weight equipment and mop/vacuum floor.
- Serve as a spotter for patrons performing various lifts.

Qualifications
- Work Study or Work Award status
- Previous work experience in customer service
- Ability to communicate effectively with other students, faculty, staff, and community members
- Current certification in CPR, First Aid, AED, or ability to complete training within two weeks after hiring date
Position Details
- Must be available 4:00pm-7:00pm 2-5 days Monday - Friday.
- The position reports to the Department of Wellness Programs
- Hourly wage starts at $9.00/hour
- Employees can expect to work 10-15/hours per week
- Employees will be required to work some weekend and/or night shifts.
