Microelectronics Integration & Test Summer Intern
The Microelectronics Integration & Test group at Draper is seeking a summer intern to work as an Integration & Test Engineer within multidisciplinary teams to conceptualize, develop, analyze, and/or assess microelectronics test solutions for a wide variety of applications, including defense systems. The individual will use their knowledge of electronics and electronics test equipment to plan, develop, and execute test activities for microelectronic systems.
Intern students must be able to work full-time for a 3-month period.
Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities
Design, develop, and enhancement engineering solutions for challenging problems.
Implement, test, perform analysis, and provide documentation support.
Generate and present test reports including plots, tables, evaluation criteria, and conclusions from data collected and analyzed throughout the test process.
Complete assignments designed to develop a practical knowledge of processes, procedures, equipment, facilities, and systems as well as their interrelationships within engineering disciplines.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Program Requirements
Enrolled in an accredited full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program required.
There is flexibility regarding hours and program duration based on applicant’s school schedule and availability.

Additional Job Description:
Project areas may include:
- Development of high-level test concepts, test plans, and detailed test procedures in support of functional, acceptance, and environmental test programs
- Development of test infrastructure in support of functional, acceptance, and environmental test programs
- Development of test software for data acquisition and processing scripts for data analysis
- Data processing and analysis for system performance and requirements verification and model validation
- Functional test and debug of circuit card assemblies using standard laboratory equipment (power supplies, DMMs, oscilloscopes, function generators, etc.)
- Hands-on use of large-scale test equipment (e.g., rate tables, centrifuges, thermal, humidity, and pressure chambers)
- Custom test cable and/or fixture design, build, integration, and verification
Required Qualifications:
- Student in their Junior or Senior year of a Bachelor’s Degree Program or Master’s Degree Program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field
- Ideal candidate will be a self-directed learner comfortable working in a faced-paced environment and must have a clearly exceptional academic record
- Ability to effectively present results in both formal and informal settings
- Experience working with commercial electronic test equipment (DMMs, oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with the sensor and/or microelectronics testing
- Experience working with and interpreting design documentation (e.g., assembly drawings and parts lists, fabrication drawings, design descriptions, electrical schematics)
- Experience interfacing with, operating, and troubleshooting environmental test equipment (rate tables, shakers, impact testers, thermal, humidity, and pressure chambers)
- Experience integrating hardware and software components for complex systems
- Experience automating and optimizing test infrastructure and data analysis tools
- Familiarity with DOORS, LabView, MATLAB, Python, SysML, Jira, Git, Linux
- Active government security clearance
