Trust Officer

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

This position is responsible for a comprehensive administration of assigned Personal Trust accounts and assisting in business development for trusts, estates, IRAs, personal and other investment accounts. To be successful in this role, you must be a team player with strong customer-facing and business development skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide sophisticated trust, estate, and investment management services to high net worth clients. Ensure all accounts are properly administered and invested according to the trust agreement provisions, applicable federal laws and regulations, acceptable fiduciary standards, and Bank policies. Actively participate with the wealth management group, internal business partners, including lending and retail staff, and centers of influences to solicit referrals and build sales pipeline and cross-selling opportunities. Communicates with clients and prospects to monitor the quality and delivery of service. Reviews, approves and directs daily administrative functions in accordance with the governing document or client written requests or instructions. Develop and maintain profitability by ensuring efficient and quality account administration. Develop new account relationships through the community and professional visibility while building long-term relationships with clientele and the professional community. Build and retain current client base by delivering Farmers Advantage customer service and adherence to client contact standards. Identify and refer business to other areas within the Bank as appropriate. Represent the Bank in community organizations and activities to enhance the Bank’s image. Comply with all federal, state and local regulatory rules and regulations governing financial institutions, as well as all company policies and procedures. Complete and pass all required regulatory compliance training as assigned. Travel to branch locations for client meetings and to provide training to Bank employees regarding available Trust services. Maintain current working knowledge of trust laws, rules, and statutes of regulatory agencies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Equivalent to a four year college degree.

EXPERIENCE GENERAL

5 years related experience and/or training.

EXPERIENCE MANAGEMENT

3 years related management experience.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Must be very familiar with trust regulations and documents. Must provide Farmers Advantage Customer Service, and set an example of same for other employees. Will provide leadership for Trust in the market served. Five years of experience must be in Trust. Management experience may be in either Trust project management and/or management of other staff.
