Agricultural Marketing Specialist

This announcement has vacancies for two functions within the Agricultural Marketing Service's Specialty Crops Program. One function oversees research and promotion programs created to maintain and expand markets for agricultural commodities. The other is for rulemaking services which is responsible or overseeing the upkeep and maintenance of regulations that affect specialty crop producers.

The duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Attends and participates in meetings with research and promotion boards, marketing orders, and other external stakeholders.
  • Reviews board marketing communications, research studies, and education projects to ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and Department policy requirements.
  • Writes federal regulation, supports rulemaking clearance process and other programming activities such as promulgatory or amendatory hears and agriculture grower referenda.
  • Receives, prepares, and processes board member nominations for the Administrator or Secretary’s appointment to a research and promotion board or marketing order.
  • Informs senior leadership through written memoranda, briefings, and weekly activity reporting that identify developments affecting specialty crop industries, research and promotion boards, and marketing orders.
