Marketing Production Specialist duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
The Marketing Production Specialist will provide integral support of the marketing function as a key member of a creative, dynamic and productive team responsible for promoting all programs and events of the Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation Department, including recreation center memberships, swim lessons, childcare programs, sports leagues, park events, rec center events and other initiatives of the department.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently but seek guidance when uncertainties arise and will be able to communicate effectively with co-workers and other stakeholders to support the team in accomplishing marketing goals.
Key Accountabilities:
Project Management:
- Utilizes project management software to monitor and track tasks assigned to the Creative HQ Unit to assure all deadlines are met and regularly communicate progress on projects to stakeholders in the department.
- Assists with marketing campaigns, including monitoring production of materials and coordinating with vendors to assure specifications and deadlines are met and invoices are accurate and up to date.
- Coordinates purchase and delivery of promotional and marketing items to facilities throughout department as appropriate.
- Coordinates scheduling and care of department mascot costumes, promotional equipment and branded items, to assure they are available for department events in good repair.
Marketing / Administrative Support:
- Assists with marketing tasks when possible, including posting event information with online calendars, scheduling meetings, proofreading materials and other tasks as assigned.
- Compiles data, expenses, photos and updates for monthly reports for the Creative HQ unit and special event and marketing campaign After Action reports.
- Manages purchasing processes, including overseeing budget and inventory management for brand swag, monthly and annual financial reports for the unit.
- Monitor online review sites for parks and rec centers, notifying managers of any issues that need addressed immediately and compiles monthly reports for review by managers.
- Assists with coordinating brand and marketing ‘pocket trainings’ for parks & recreation employees.
- Perform other job duties requiring skills, knowledge and physical requirements as demanded by those duties described or less. Individual assignments will be determined by the supervisor based on the current workloads and department needs.
