Position Details:

Position Responsibilities:
As a HR Generalist Trainee, you will be accountable for providing onsite agency human resources support, including but not limited to, recruitment, new employee onboarding and general state HR administration. Your impact is crucial to the Human Resources function as you will participate in programs that directly impact the health, safety, and wellbeing of the agency’s workforce.
Additionally, you'll be responsible for the following duties:
- Assist in various areas of the recruitment process, including clearing of mandatory lists, interviewing, selection, and on-boarding hires.
- Conduct agency-specific human resources work dedicated to the hiring and onboarding of new employees, as well as the confirming and tracking of required education or licensure.
- Assist in advising agency staff on human resources policies and procedures, proper organizational structure and use of appropriate job classifications, talent needs, to include but not limited to advising on the availability and expiration of eligible lists, etc.
- Partner with DAS service delivery teams and specialized units to appropriately deliver solutions for agency human resources needs.
- Assist in making recommendations regarding agency’s classification. and position management transactions and ensures proper organizational structure.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Advise employees on matters related to employment, career development, transfer, separation, recruitment, examinations, and/or compensation.
- Upon approval, facilitate human resource transactions, including promotions, demotions, transfers.
- Communicate with agency managers, bargaining unit representatives and other interested parties to ensure cooperative relationships
- Maintain human resource information systems within assigned agency.
- Perform research in support of reclassification grievances, business rules questions, policy and legislative changes, training initiatives and other human resources initiatives and projects.
- Utilize time management and organizational skills, while managing multiple priorities to meet competing deadline.
- Achieve results in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Creative thinking, taking the initiative and thinking of new ideas.
- Work independently and as a team.
- Develop and maintain working relationships with Human Resources Business Partners and DAS Human Resources teams as well as other duties as assigned.
